Good Citizen Raven

This is my Uncle Raven and yesterday afternoon he gained his Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award after a test at his training class. We are very proud of him as he has found life quite challenging in many ways since he came back to live with us after being in a different home for several months. Doors have been a bit scary and strange as he lived in an open plan house and noises of all sorts get him very anxious especially high pitched noises, loud noises and children shouting. He has been trying hard to focus and concentrate on his training and is doing well :-)

Here are his rosette and certificate...only the certificate says that he was the handler and Judith was the dog BOL He will get a new certificate very soon! He had to sit still in one position for a whole minute and walk calmly on a loose lead, he had to wait calmly for Judith to go through a door first (very difficult for Raven who loves to rush through any open door!) and he had to come back when called straight away...and there were other questions that Judith had to answer about responsible dog ownership and his collar tag was checked to make sure that the details comply with UK law.

He has a lovely bronze coloured tag for his collar too :-)
We are all very happy for Raven that he did so well.

  2. A HUGE, HUGE CONGRATS to your Uncle Raven for this amazing achievement!! I know it's not easy, it takes a lot of practice and work and it says so much about him, and to his peeps who worked to help your Uncle Raven become a "Good Citizen Dog!"

  4. That is a really cool tag! We didn't get a tag just a certificate and a patch.

  5. Congratulations, Raven! We could never do that. We are NOT calm when the door or gate is opened. And sitting still for a whole minute! We're kind of up to about 30 seconds....and only if we can see HER. So we think you're a legend!
