So much has been happening since my last post with these little schnauzer puppies that it will take a few posts to catch up BOL. But today I will share some photos of the day of the Puppy Party. This is Ruby, one of the little pupsters having a shower and freshen up before the big event.
And here she is being dried off. She did not seem to mind the bath - not like me!
The Puppy Party is something that my peeps do for the pups as part of the Puppy Culture. It is not a party with balloons and presents but a day for the puppies to meet a few new people and to discover some new items and to work with the people to earn little treats. It all helps to get them used to knowing that new people can be fun and that trying out new things with people is even more fun and can mean treats too.
This is Stanford trying out the balance board with the encouragement of the new peeps.
And Scout testing out the see-saw for the first time. The pups each have 2 minutes at each 'station' with two new peeps and a piece of equipment they have not seen before. After 2 minutes they move on to the next one and then they have a rest.
This is Poppy coming out of the tiny tunnel. The pups have seen tunnels before but much larger ones than this and they have not used this tunnel before. When all the pups had enjoyed a session on each piece of equipment and worked with all the new peeps, they had a good sleep so they could absorb all the new experiences....and the peeps enjoyed lunch and a chat! After lunch, the puppies had another go and they were so much better than the first time round...the sleep really helped them to learn how to use the equipment and the short sessions were just the right time.
As you can see there were also quite few doggies at the house that day. As well as the 10 of us who live here, we had two house guests staying for the Easter holiday weeks and three visitors with their peeps...and the six puppies! It was quite a houseful but luckily the weather was good for play in the garden.
Another photo of the schnauzers posing - apart from one they are all dogs who were born here :-)
This is Billy in the arms of his new mum-to-be :-)
And this is Fergie meeting his Uncle Finley - who will be one of his new big brothers when he goes to his new home. He will also have another older 'brother' there too - Fritz who also said hello.
They all got on well together :-)
More puppy updates to follow very soon :-)
